[[Leslie]] is in a classroom, with [[Sister Catharine]] teaching. She scolds Leslie for not paying attention, says "I know where you came from". Some introduction to the nuns and the orphans they care for. Leslie is a new girl, and isn't used to the place yet.

She taught [[Leslie]] when she was younger. She insisted on the name "Sister Catharine"; wouldn't tolerate just "Sister", or "Catharine", or "Miss". Also insisted that prayers should be properly structured, with "thee"s and "thou"s and ornate, formal grammar.
