Shadow drinker
The most common unnatural race in the books. Drinkers were the inspiration for many vampire myths, but some of the older ones have been actively diluting the legends with incorrect information (such as all the stuff about holy symbols and garlic). For this reason, most hunters are careful not to use the word "vampire"; it could lead to them doing silly things.
The most prominent drinker in the series is Brad, but we also see him learning from a couple of mentors: Marnivelo Moonchild Rosenthal and Lady Meredith.
The children of drinkers are known as munchkins or "potentials".
