Summary:Hunter's Gift/Chapter 1/Scene 1
From Hunter's Gift Wiki
- Leslie is at a nightclub, and steps outside for some fresh air while feeling nauseous (and quite drunk).
- She overhears part of a conversation between Adam and John, and is curious enough to step closer. Shortly after, Collins rushes past. She instinctively warns him that he's going to die. She stays around out of curiosity, because they used the word "murder" and she's aware that Collins is about to die.
- The conversation between Adam and John was about a past murder. "The Petrovskys" were killed by someone who Adam released, and John thinks he's to blame. Adam counters that he can't arrest someone for what they're going to do.
- Collins cautions the two not to talk so loudly because they've been overheard. Implies he's taught them in the past.
- Adam tackles Leslie, and accuses her of eavesdropping. She protests that he was shouting. Collins points out that she's "not one of them".
- Adam says he and Mick are running an investigation in Briarwood, so he's got an alibi if she makes any kind of accusations on an official level.
- Collins says she's drunk and won't remember, they should just let her go. But wants to know why she said he was going to die. Adam attempts to interrogate her, but she says it was just a hunch. Can't get any more out of her.
- They've got nowhere to keep a prisoner anyway; they have to let her go. Warns her not to make any fuss, and Collins reminds them that they shouldn't get distracted because they've got a job to do.
